She's just trying to psych them out-she doesn't get any real value out of holding two books open instead of one open and with a bookmark at the appropriate spot for later. Or maybe it's an intentional distraction from the tentacles and overall growth.. she needs to get a larger table or smaller chair or her back will be killing her by the end of a session hunched over that GM screen.
