Interesting thought about the cross. There was one family supposedly cursed by a saint. And if there were any relics from that saint they might hold the same power
well relics of the eastern orthodox version of saint Christopher might do that (when the eastern church adopted the catholic story of the giant patron saint of travelers they mistranslated Canaanite as canine and made him a werewolf as well as a giant... but from what I understand Volfen Stu is a catholic so it's probably a relic of the Benandanti

crosses are symbol's older then the existence of the religion they are currently associated with. So it is possible for a cross to be cursed.
