Just for the record, Canada is only a frozen wasteland between October and April, but we still wear shorts and t-shirts until early December. I have no idea how the stereotypes have persisted this long.
powdered milk you add water and you have milk the use it in restaurants, military overseas, survival packs, storm shelters, feeding people in Africa, people in space, and the list goes on and on
It's not only powdered milk. Not sure if this is the way it is in Canada, but in much of the world milk in liquid form just comes in one liter pouches; you have to have a container that holds the pouch upright once a corner is cut or have some container for it if you don't want it spilling everywhere.
Fenrir: People down south think the north is really cold. They see pictures of snow and ice and I guess it goes to their heads. (I'm just as guilty, of course. It still surprises me a little to learn that it sometimes gets cold in places like Texas and Mississippi.)
And then there are territories like Nunavut, which I suppose must be colder than, say, Ontario...
Apparently bagged milk is some sort of meme? I really hadn't heard of it before... well, today. I know my parents used to buy bagged milk from... Quality Dairy? But as far as I know, QD has long since moved to plastic jugs like everyone else.
Anyway, it's okay. I'm as amused as you. I mean, come on, I'm from Michigan. So, you know, almost Canada. :)
Bagged milk is a pretty common European thing that was exported to more continentally-influenced nations in the Western Hemisphere (it's all there is in South America, besides shelf-safe boxed UHT milk).
We Canadians are very serious about our country and do not accept people offending us with stereotypes. They were making jokes :P LEL so we threw them into a house full of all the stereotype things they made fun of.

Fenrir
True enough. But I've NEVER heard of bagged milk anywhere. I just don't know how it got linked to Canada.
Also, my indignation was meant to be humorous. Maybe it didn't come through.
