Hey, depending on season and latitude this could easily be 7 PM or earlier-probably not far enough north for those month-long nights, though. Nobody's dressed for that.

In the midwest, around where Ohio is located, December 21 is the shortest day, with sunset at about 5:00-5:30. therefore since most malls close at 7 in Ohio, its entirely plausible.
