The Wight dragon refers to the chalk spin that runs the length of the island 'Isle of Wight' the head is the part of eastern section known as the 'Dulver' it's nose is situtated below 'Culver Downs' with a cove called 'Nostrials Cove'. The tail is the jaggered spikes of the 'Needles' at the western tip.

A wight is an undead creature with part of its soul still within it.

It's also medieval term for any living creature a distortion of a Germanic word. I think Tolken used it to describe an undead creature.

It's also an Isle of Wight dielect distortion for chalk, my home deilect never made much sense. 'Gills' means gallows, 'Blackgang' means Iron smelting and 'Bettyhaunt' means brook or stream.
