Otter

Another of my sketches from my openCanvas session with lancefoxx last night. This was the first one I drew, and I like it :D (Also, one of my first experiments with drawing digitally. Still have a way to go if I want to do lineart, but it's not a bad start :) )

Secondary to my primary style, which I consider to be more manga-esc., I've been developing something a bit more cartoony. Not that amazing an image, so I used it to practice improving my cell shading. What do you guys think? --- Now with an impromptu second half!

This is a sketch sequence for @thistle, for my 100 Sketch Challenge. The idea for this TF comes from a Tlingit myth regarding otters and what happens to people who drown. Having fallen out of his canoe in a wide, swift river, this poor young man fights to find the surface in the current before he drowns. A seemingly ordinary otter passes, seeing that his struggles are failing...

This fella decided to steal sushi from a sushi bar and run away! He is munching on sushi rolls as he makes his hasty getaway, and of course, as a punishment, this transforms him into a Northern Sea Otter. He is careless when it comes to supporting the plate properly because the sushi is bouncing all over the place, leaving a trail behind him. Eventually he will trip on his large pants as his body shrinks to otter-size. Commission for Forepawz

Technically another character mash-up. This time involving Digby (a humanoid woodchuck) and Dagby (the otter). I pretty much went for the "I Was a Teenage Marine Critter" dream sequence route, with Digby trying on some experimental specs that gave the illusion of ocean lifestyle. Side effects include spontaneous TFing. The longer he kept the glasses on, he gradually started to look and act like a river otter(!) Digby (in Dagby's voice): These aqua-dook glasses have really gained my confide...

Pool's closed? Well, that doesn't stop everyone wanting a late-night dip. Thankfully, we have other ways of dealing with that situation, and the zoo down the street really loves it! This is both a pic based off the new Artist's Challenge AND A request done for someone here asking to be TFed. I decided to double up while I had the opportunity! :). Ohoho! And for once it's not an oekaki!!

I tried to do more of a "poof" transformation rather than a gradual one. Hope you like it. When Jimmy's magic trick for his class failed, it turned out it actually worked, and he hasn't even realize it yet.
